If you are on Facebook, you may have noticed that some people are taking part in the “30 Day Challenge.”   Every day during July, I’ll post a prompt and answer it either with a photo, a story, both OR if I am feeling extra sassy, a video.  I’ll also add a linky, so we can all get to know each other better.

Camille's Baby Shower

My dear, dear, friend Camille and I have been besties for almost, what 7/8 years!? Gasp!

Our initial meeting we both we're trying to determine how we knew one another. After seeing The Lion King on IMAX we finally saw the light,  we were connected because of two things- 1. Timeless Treasure (scrap booking haven in OC) 2. Cat Purse Grandma. My grandma shopped at the store that Camille was employed and Betty definitely knew how to make friends wherever she traveled. I believe the exclamation from Camille was, "oh, your grandma is the one with the tapestry cat purse!" We were basically attached at the hip from then on.
Our adventures ranged from 6am swim class that included; goggles, swim cap, fins and speedo swim attire... midnight photos shoots at Christopher Park, Halloween as Spider Man and Robin (these were little boys costumes)  This collage is the best I can do for evidence of this priceless piece of history since all those photos are still on my old hard drive. But I do believe you are able to capture the essence our super-hero themed Halloween.

We spent at least one summer at Disneyland since we splurged and purchased passes. I could write a book of all the shenanigans we got ourselves into on a daily bases. I only have the most fond and cherished memories of my dear friend and I am more than ecstatic to be apart of
the next chapter of her life with her new family, Garry and Ms. Little-Perfect Char.

I had the honor of co-hosting her baby shower last month for her first precious baby, Charlotte Audrey Facer. I LOVE and I mean LOVE party planning. I have never been able to stick to a budget and this occasion was no exception. Below are some of the pictures from the event. Nancy, Camille's mom prepared an array of the most delectable dishes. My most favorite treat was the Pineapple-Ham Quesadillas, you might not think that these babies are compatible together but let me tell you, they are the new peanut-butter and jelly!
As for the decorations I had some help from some other crafty bloggers.

The lovely tulle balls that topped off the patio like sprinkles on a sweet and fluffy cupcake are so easy to assemble, just ask my boyfriend. He dutifully stepped up and made a majority of the balls while I worked on my other projects. To make larger ones that MomDot made, you just need to cut out larger circles and it will obviously need more tulle. I didn't quite like her rule with the ribbon in between the two pieces so I didn't follow it and just tied a separate piece of tulle between the two sheets of cardboard before pulling the puff out.

Next is the Pixies/PinWheel Wands. I found this idea from a very crafty blogger. I only changed out the pixie stick with wooden dowels that you can find at any craft store.

These babies (plenty of left overs after the shower) now decorate my room like happy paper flowers. You can definitely let you creativity take over when making these. You can use two different patterned papers and the embellishments options are endless. Just
have fun. :)

Happy Father's Day

I am so blessed to have a dad who is dedicated, hard-working, honest, dependable, hilarious and the most loving man I've ever met. (Don't worry mom, you are just as awesome and I am just as much Dad's daughter as I am yours :)

Like so many other families, my parents divorced when I was a wee-little-one. But unlike most dysfunctional normal families, mine still gathers for dinners, celebrations and sometimes just to say "HI!"

Whenever I ask Dad what he would like for Christmas, bday or Father's Day, he'd first say, "Nothing, save your money." But then after some coaxing he'd share some ites that he saw in Cebela's hunting maganize but let's be honest, I'm not very fond of gutting knives let alone buying it myself as a gift, lol. This year he asked for John Wayne movies. Awesome. I can totally get down with The Duke. I remember getting out of weekend chores If I would sit down and watch one his favorite movies, ie, The Cowboys or some other film he considered to be a classic.

I love my Daddy. I will never be able to thank him for all of his guidance, love, and continued support.
And I can't forget to mention he took me to see Nsync, not once, but TWICE. :)

Happy Father's Day!

I heart...

At this moment I am all about candles. Especially the mini-candles at Bath and Body Works, they have an array of the most yummy-smelling scents. My personal fave is the Pineapple Orchid. To top of these small beatiues they're only three for $5.00! Holy smelling goodness Batman! These are perfect as little gifts or treating yourself and you aren't going to break the bank either.
Coconut Leaves 14.5 oz. Filled Candle - Slatkin & Co. - Bath & Body Works
Also, my favorite new scent is Coconut Leaves. Yum. I went back in to buy a few more and they were sold out. It's perfect for summer not to overpowering just a subtle aromoa to get any room ready for some care-free lazy summer days.
I could go on and on about B&B right now but I am going to rein it back in.
To sum it all up, candles rock espically when you have rainbow of  flirty scents to choose from at such a great price.

Where do we begin?

First off, I should already be in bed fast asleep :) I have work come 8am and I definitely enjoy getting a solid nine hours of sleep is possible. Since I am cutting it close as I sit here in my jammies I am just gonna go with it.

I am an avid reader, I will probably be discussing books quite a bit here. Hope you don't mind. I also am participating in Book Soulmates monthly activity. It's pretty keen. :) Here you can sign up and post your most wished book or book related items. You find a new "friend" to send a RAK too off their wish list. I've already done two and I can't wait to do one more.

I am hoping to post a project of the month. I helped organize my dear friends baby shower last month and I can't wait to post the pictures and the how to of some of the adorable decorations and favors that I made.

I hope as the weeks pass by this blog will finally sort its self out. And in turn I can crank out a most-awesome and entertaining page where you can smile, laugh out loud and share in my joy of living each day to the fullest!

Begin today. Declare outloud to the universe that you are willing to let go of struggle and eager to learn through joy.
